Keith D. Bertolino, CEO
Keith D. Bertolino, Chief Executive Officer, co-founded Cipher Tech Solutions in 2006. Keith began his technical career in 2001 in IT support, building a company out of his parents' basement while in High School. His young company supported many law firms in the suburbs of NYC. As a college undergraduate, Keith became involved with the Department of Defense, working for the DoD Cyber Crime Center. He specialized in custom software development and created several tools that are still being used by the Defense Computer Forensics Laboratory today. Keith also published two research papers, one on Wireless Security and one on Steganography Jamming. His research generated international attention in 2008 when it was featured in the August issue of IEEE Spectrum.
Keith has had the privilege of presenting at the 2008 Homeland Security Conference and the 2009 Defense Cyber Crime Conference.
Keith received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering with a minor in Technological Entrepreneurship and a Master of Science in Engineering Management with a focus on leadership from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.
Passionate about entrepreneurship, Keith invests most of his free time in starting and running a variety of small businesses, but occasionally finds time to work on old cars or hit the slopes for a ski race.
Matthew B. Kowalski, CTO
Matthew B. Kowalski, Chief Technical Officer, co-founded Cipher Tech Solutions in 2006. Matthew began his technical career in 2001 in telecommunications at Consolidated Technologies, Inc. He specialized in converged technologies which included integrating voice systems with email systems, Voice over Internet Protocol systems (VoIP) and enterprise wireless deployment. In 2002, Matthew founded and managed Future Proof Techs which provided small businesses and home users with computer support, website development and custom software development.
Matthew also supported the Seeker and Interceptor Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington, Massachusetts. His key responsibilities were supporting the research networks and implementing custom electrical circuits.
Matthew received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Computer Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Matthew published a security paper on Wireless Security and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
In his spare time Matthew enjoys volunteering as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and a Civil Air Patrol Officer and is pursuing his private pilot’s license.
